I bought the solid beechwood cutting board and it's a great addition to my kitchen. The thickness gives it a sturdy, high quality feel, and it stays stable without slipping on the countertop while chopping. The wood grain looks beautiful, so it also doubles nicely as a serving board. The size is practical and large enough for meal prep but still easy to store. I like that it's reversible, which helps keep one side for cutting and the other for serving or presentation. The surface feels smooth and well finished, and it's been easy to maintain with proper oiling. Easy to clean with no stains so far. Overall, this is a durable and attractive butcher block board that works well for chopping, serving, or gifting.
I've had a couple wood cutting boards but this one is just solid! This is a thick board coming in at 1 inch so you know this isn't going to warp or crack like some thinner boards will. It's 11x18 and hefty, weighing 4.9 pounds which makes it feel like a quality crafted item that's going to last for years if properly maintained. This is made from beechwood, has a completely flat bottom and a deep lip around the entirety of the cutting surface helping to keep juices from overflowing onto your counter. While I was chopping up some veggies I noticed that no knife marks were left behind and was very pleased with its performance.
A somewhat expensive cutting board, but worth it for its weight, stability, scratch resistance, and not warping when exposed to the many liquids in all the vegetables and fruits I've been hacking at with sharp knives. The board looks classy in the kitchen and on a dining room table, with a nice wooden tone. Sized generously to fit a lot of food. I also appreciated the seller's care in packaging. Highly recommend!
